Living in Montblanc

Montblanc is a beautifully preserved walled medieval town of 7,600 in the Tarragona hinterland, its ring of ramparts and towers a surprise to come upon inland — and, by legend, the very place St George slew the dragon, still celebrated each April. It's a mixed working town with Moroccan, Romanian and Ukrainian communities among a mostly Spanish population. The climate is inland-Mediterranean, warm summers near 30°C, mild winters around 12°C. It's unusually well placed: a hospital is under fifteen minutes away, Reus and its airport half an hour, so you get the medieval town without the isolation.

Numbers: Spainability town dataset, derived from INE, AEMET, Mitma and the Catastro. Registered long-let rent is SERPAVI declared-contract data; its p25–p75 values show the observed band. Registered-rent yield is gross, excludes costs and is never imputed. Percentile chips count only the municipalities that report the figure — the "of n" says how many. Region-ranked figures (PISA, surgical waits) compare Spain's 17 comunidades autónomas. A blank means no municipal-level figure is published — not a zero.
